Sugargoo Links Guide: Check the Destination and Read the Disclosure
A link labelled with a brand name can open a product page, a directory, an invitation page or another destination. Check what actually opens before treating the label as a description of the service or item.
This independent guide explains the link destination and referral evidence log. It does not verify every external link or certify a seller.
Record the label and destination separately
Keep the original link, the wording that introduced it, the final visible URL, page type and checked date.
1. Identify what the link claims to offer
Copy a short description of the label: product, category, account invitation, coupon or guide. Record the page where you found it.
Do not assume a brand name in the label means the destination is the official service. A directory can legitimately link elsewhere, but the destination should be clear.
This site's category links open SpreadsheetCKJ. Check the original listing reached from a category before recording product details.
2. Read the visible destination
After opening the link normally, record the domain, page title and page type. Compare them with what the label led you to expect.
Record only redirects or intermediate pages you can actually observe. If the full route is not visible, mark it Not recorded rather than inventing a complete redirect chain.
Keep the original address alongside the final URL so a later change can be traced.
3. Pause at an unexpected request
If a product link unexpectedly opens an unrelated login, payment or download page, stop and verify the destination through a source you already trust.
Do not enter credentials or payment information simply to discover where an unclear link leads. Record the unexpected page type and date.
A familiar logo or similar spelling does not establish that a page is operated by the expected organisation.
4. Record a visible referral relationship
Note whether the source describes the link as an affiliate link, referral, invitation, promotion or ordinary product reference. Preserve the actual disclosure wording or its source.
If the relationship is not stated, record Not stated. Do not infer a paid relationship solely from a URL parameter, and do not claim there is no relationship without evidence.
A disclosure explains an incentive or connection. It does not verify product quality, availability or a claimed discount.
5. Check the product context separately
For a product destination, record the visible item identifier, seller label and selected size, colour or model. A link reaching a shop homepage has not yet identified an exact item.
Keep the displayed price and date separate from any promised coupon or saving. Verify an offer using its actual conditions and checkout result.
If the page no longer matches the item described by the source, record the mismatch rather than treating the link as current.
6. Follow a labelled example
Illustrative example: a button says “shoe listing” but opens a category page. Record Destination type: category, Exact product: not established. This may be a labelling problem rather than proof of a malicious link.
A second link is clearly labelled as an invitation and opens an invitation page. Record that agreement, but do not treat it as evidence of any product claim.
These are example checks, not reports about specific external links.
7. Maintain dates and change notes
Reopen time-sensitive links before acting on an old record. If the destination or item changes, preserve the earlier observation and add the new date and result.
Use Observed as labelled, Mismatch, Changed or Could not check with a short reason. A temporary loading failure should not become a claim of permanent removal.
Keep a proposed replacement link in its own record until you have checked what it opens.
8. Share a transparent link note
Use a descriptive label and name the destination type. Include the checked date when you make a time-sensitive statement.
State a promotion relationship accurately when one applies. Do not claim official affiliation, independent testing or verified savings that you have not established.
Keep private account links and personal order information out of public examples. A useful note explains the destination and limitations without exposing those details.
Sugargoo link questions
Does a referral disclosure mean the item is verified?
No. It describes a relationship, not a product inspection.
Can I record redirects that I did not see?
No. Mark the route incomplete and keep the final visible destination.
What if a category opens instead of a product?
Record the destination type and do not treat it as an exact product match.
Where do your category links go?
They open SpreadsheetCKJ. This independent site provides research guidance rather than official account support.
